Privacy Policy

This page explains what information Buoy Book (also known as WaterSki Tracker) collects, why, and how you can control it. It applies to both the web app and the iOS app.

What we collect

• Account information — your name, email, and password (stored securely, never in plain text).
• Ski session data — sessions, sets, passes, scores, and any equipment or site details you enter.
• Weather data — when you view a site's forecast, we query a weather provider using that site's coordinates.
• Analytics data — if you accept our analytics banner, we collect page/screen views and a small set of feature-usage events (e.g. recording a session, favoriting a site) via Google Analytics. On iOS, if you also grant the App Tracking Transparency permission, this may include your device's advertising identifier.

Why we collect it

Account and session data is what makes the app work — it's how we store and show you your own ski history. Weather data helps you decide whether conditions are good for skiing. Analytics data helps us understand which features are actually useful so we can improve the app; we do not sell your data to anyone.

Your choices

Analytics is entirely opt-in. You can accept or decline it the first time you visit, and change your mind at any time from your Profile page (web) or Settings screen (iOS). Declining means no analytics data is sent at all.
